Guilin Electrical Equipment Scientific Research Institute Co., Ltd. (GLESI) , with its predecessor as Electrical Equipment Scientific Research Institute of No. 1 Ministry of Machinery Industry, was founded in Beijing in 1954 and relocated in Guilin in 1970.
